Turns out, kids have terrible aim.

study published in Pediatrics analyzed data of children treated for sports-related eye injuries in the ER from 1990-2012.

What did they find?
They found that boys accounted for 75% of the injuries and basketball and baseball were the most common sports that caused injuries.

This isn’t surprising, why is CNN covering this?
Because the authors found the rate of eye injuries associated with nonpowder guns (BB, pellet, and paintball guns), increased by 168.8%.

Why such an increase?
One theory is that because the sales of air guns have increased, they are simply now in the hands of more people.
