Weekly social media roundup.

In online contact lens news:

Hubble, a subscription-based startup that sells its own brand of daily disposable contact lenses has raised $16.5 million in a new round of venture funding.  For a full rundown on what Hubble is, read my previous glance here.
Sightbox, an online contact lens service and eye exam setter-upper, announced it booked it’s 2500th eye exam.  Here is my previous rundown on Sightbox.

In digital marketing news:

Both Alcon and Bausch & Lomb have created online hubs for providers.
Alcon’s site is a marketing portal with info on contacts and how to improve your social media presence.
B&L’s portal is for both patients and providers.  It has patient education tools, the latest information on eye concerns and the ability to order products online.

The next time your able-bodied patient complains about how hard it is to put in contacts, show them this guy.

The first patient in LA gets corneal cross-linking.
