A small study was published in JAMA Neurology that involved 10 patients suffering from migraines. Patients received either one drop of Timolol 0.5% or an artificial tear at the onset of symptoms and then again 30 minutes later. They were then asked to rate their migraine severity after two hours. In the Timolol group, 78% said they had a severity of none to mild compared with 67% in the artificial tear group.
Take home: Interesting results but the author states, given the small sample size, there are no statistically significant results and further studies are needed. (via)
