Legislative update.

California // Assembly Bill 1110 – Pupil Health: Eye and Vision Examinations.
Requires students during kindergarten year to have an eye exam performed by a physician, optometrist, or ophthalmologist.
Might not be a bad idea given this new prediction on the rise of vision impairment in preschool children.

Connecticut // House Bill 6012 – An Act Concerning Consumer Protection in Eye Care.
Prohibits online prescriptions for glasses or contacts. The Huffington post gave a negative writeup of this bill a few weeks back but a recent article shows ophthalmology supports it.

Here is a previous rundown on other pending legislation.
