New contact lens wearers who discontinue lens wear often cite poor visual acuity, poor comfort and difficulty with insertion and removal as their reasons, according to a 2018 survey. Therefore, a contact lens designed for new wearers should address these three main issues. PRECISION1® One-Day contact lenses from Alcon are such a lens, designed to meet the needs of today’s new lens wearers. In this episode, Kathy Dumbleton, PhD, Clinical Associate Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, joins Dr. Glover to discuss the clinical data for PRECISION1® lenses. Dr. Dumbleton has been a clinical researcher for almost 35 years, with a specific focus on contact lenses, the ocular surface and dry eye. Dr. Dumbleton reviews 2 clinical trials, including a head-to-head study that set PRECISION1® lenses against the leading daily disposable brand in the U.S. These data focus particularly on the excellent vision, comfort, and handling demonstrated by PRECISION1®.
This podcast is part of a 3-part series on PRECISION1® contact lenses.
