Will exercising help my glaucoma?
A new study found that the risk of glaucoma decreased as exercise intensity increased.
Is this new information?
Kind of. Previous studies have shown that exercise may be preventative against glaucoma but this study says that people who exercise with greater intensity (faster walking speeds, running etc) may even further decrease their glaucoma risk.
The study details:
“Using nationwide survey data collected in the United States, the researchers found that compared with the least active, the most physically active people appeared to have a 73 percent lower risk of developing glaucoma.”
Why the decreased risk?
