Three year results on a study comparing myopia progression in 8-12 year olds was presented last week in England. Results showed patients fit in MiSight, a CooperVision dual-focus daily soft contact lens, slowed myopia progression by 59% as compared to patients fit in single vision contacts.
MiSight is designed like a multifocal lens but has peripheral treatment zones that create myopic retinal defocus which has been shown to control the rate of progression of myopia. No word on when Cooper plans to present this for FDA approval.
